Unit 11: High Performance Computing =================================== When the need for computational resources exceeds your local computer or your class virtual machine, then we may turn to high performance computing (HPC). HPC refers to the use of powerful supercomputers and, typically, parallel processing approaches to scale up and speed up research. This may mean processing larger data, more samples, more complex models, or all of the above. This unit is designed to introduce skills required to perform computational research in domain sciences on HPC resources. It will cover topics including logging in to an HPC system at TACC, navigating file systems, the module system, submitting batch jobs, and running jobs interactively. .. toctree:: :maxdepth: 1 intro_to_hpc modules batch_job_submission hands_on_lab idev tap
